Krish Pathak Opens Up About Father Sunil Lahri’s Divorce, Shares Bond with Parents

Krish Pathak, son of legendary television actor Sunil Lahri, recently tied the knot with Sara Khan in a wedding that honored both Hindu and Muslim traditions. While Sunil Lahri was absent from the ceremonies, fans and media have speculated about the father-son relationship. Krish, however, has previously spoken candidly about his upbringing, his father’s divorce, and the challenges he faced.

Sunil Lahri, renowned for his portrayal of Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic Ramayan, has always kept his personal life private. He was married twice, both marriages ending in divorce. Krish Pathak, born from Sunil’s second marriage to Bharti Pathak, experienced his parents’ separation when he was just nine months old. His mother raised him single-handedly, and Krish has often spoken about the struggles she endured.

Growing Up Amid Divorce

In a 2022 interview with eTimes, Krish shared, “My parents’ decision to separate was mutual, and I respect that choice. I grew up with my mother, who gave me unconditional love and support. Witnessing her daily struggles helped me mature faster than my peers.”

Reflecting on childhood challenges, he added, “Seeing friends enjoy time with both parents sometimes made me feel left out. But over time, I learned to handle these emotions. I have a very good relationship with my father too, and I believe children should be nurtured well, whether parents are together or separated.”

Maintaining a Strong Bond with Sunil Lahri

Krish emphasized that his mother never tried to distance him from his father. “I share a strong bond with my dad, and I am grateful for the upbringing I received. I learned a lot from him,” he said. Due to the divorce, Krish often had to change schools, splitting his time between his mother and father, which initially made maintaining long-term friendships difficult. Yet, as he grew older, he realized he had built a wide circle of friends across different states.

A Father’s Absence at the Wedding

Krish’s recent marriage to Sara Khan, conducted according to both Hindu and Muslim customs, has drawn attention, especially because Sunil Lahri did not attend. While some have speculated about his absence, Krish’s earlier statements indicate a respectful and loving relationship with both parents, suggesting that his father’s non-attendance may not reflect any personal estrangement.
