KBC17 Celebrates Its Second Crorepati: Biplab Biswas from Jharkhand Wins ₹1 Crore in a Flash

The seventeenth season of “Kaun Banega Crorepati” (KBC17), hosted by Amitabh Bachchan, has witnessed its second crorepati. Biplab Biswas from Ranchi, Jharkhand, stunned everyone by answering the ₹1 crore question instantly, winning the prize along with a car.

The episode began with Fastest Finger First, where Biplab secured the top spot and advanced to the hot seat. Before starting, he shared his inspiring journey as a CRPF inspector posted in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh, speaking emotionally about surviving in harsh jungle conditions and honoring the sacrifices of his colleagues. Amitabh consoled and encouraged him warmly.

Without using any lifelines, Biplab navigated through the questions, winning ₹50,000, and then played the Super Sandook, correctly answering ten questions to earn ₹1 lakh, which was directly deposited into his account. Amitabh invited Biplab and his family to his residence for dinner as a gesture of celebration.

For the ₹1 crore question, Biplab was asked: “What was the name of the ship that transported the Statue of Liberty from France to America?” Without hesitation, he confidently answered “Isère”, leaving the host astonished. Along with the prize money, he also won a car.

Biplab now moves forward to tackle the next challenge—a ₹7 crore question—in upcoming episodes. His remarkable composure and swift responses have made him one of the standout contestants of KBC17.
