Kartik Aaryan Faces Backlash for Dancing to Salman Khan’s ‘Saajan Ji Ghar Aaye’; Netizens Unimpressed

Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has once again landed in the middle of a social media storm—this time for recreating Salman Khan’s iconic song ‘Saajan Ji Ghar Aaye’ from the 1998 blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The dance sequence appears in Kartik’s newly released film ‘Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri’, which hit theatres on December 25, 2025.

In the viral clip, Kartik is seen dancing alongside Ananya Panday, closely imitating Salman Khan’s original steps from the song that also featured Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Rani Mukerji. However, the homage has not gone down well with a section of the audience—particularly Salman Khan’s loyal fanbase.

Social Media Reacts Strongly

As the video spread across social platforms, netizens were quick to express their displeasure. Many felt that the recreation failed to match the original’s charm and swagger.

Comments ranged from:

  • “Salman Khan’s swag is unmatched.”
  • “No one can compete with Bhai.”
  • “Everyone wants to be Salman, but no one can be Salman.”
  • “Rename Kartik Aaryan to ‘Copycat’.”

Some users also criticised Bollywood’s growing trend of remixing classic songs, calling it an unnecessary attempt to cash in on nostalgia.

Not the First Remix Controversy

The backlash comes soon after criticism of another song from the same film—a remix of ‘Saat Samundar Paar’ from the 1991 movie Virasat. Upon its release, the track was heavily trolled, with audiences accusing the makers of “ruining an iconic song.”

Film Under the Spotlight

With back-to-back controversies surrounding its music, Tu Meri Main Tera, Main Tera Tu Meri finds itself under intense public scrutiny on its opening day. While the film aims to blend romance with nostalgia, audience reactions suggest that tampering with classic Bollywood numbers remains a risky move.

As social media debates continue, it remains to be seen whether the film’s box office performance can rise above the noise—or if the backlash over its musical choices will overshadow its release.
