
Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has voiced strong outrage over the recent mob lynching of Dipu Chandra Das in Bangladesh. Taking to social media, she described the brutal killing as a “massacre” and urged people to educate themselves, ask questions, and stand against communal discrimination.
In her Instagram story, Janhvi Kapoor wrote in English:
“Dipu Chandra Das… this is a massacre, and it is not an isolated incident. If you are unaware of the brutal mob lynching, read about it, watch videos, ask questions.”
Appeal Against Apathy
Janhvi further stressed the importance of reacting against such violence, emphasizing that ignoring such incidents amounts to double standards. She added:
“If witnessing this does not make you angry, it is double standards, which are dangerous for all of us. We mourn events far away in the world but stand silent while our own brothers and sisters are suffering.”
Denouncing Communal Extremism
The actress also condemned all forms of communal hatred and extremism. She urged people to act before losing their humanity and highlighted the need to protect innocent lives caught in communal violence. Janhvi wrote:
“Any form of communal bias or extremism, whether we are victims or accused, we must recognize its evil before we lose our humanity. Equip yourself with knowledge to stand up for those who are losing their lives to this communal hatred and fear.”
The Incident
The tragic incident occurred in Bangladesh when 27-year-old Hindu man Dipu Chandra Das was brutally beaten by a mob on allegations of blasphemy and his body set on fire. The horrific event sparked widespread outrage across India and other countries, with protests demanding justice for the victim.
