‘Industry’s Flawed Mindset’: Emraan Hashmi Praises ‘Dhurandhar’, Comments on Audience Watching 3.5-Hour Film

January 10: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi has shared his thoughts on the massive success of Aditya Dhar’s film ‘Dhurandhar’, praising its box office performance while also commenting on the “flawed mindset” of the film industry. Despite the movie running nearly three and a half hours, audiences continue to flock to theaters, highlighting the film’s strong appeal.

Emraan on the Industry’s Thinking

Speaking to India Today, Emraan Hashmi expressed that although he has not yet watched the film, he greatly appreciates its commercial success. He said:

“Whenever a film performs well, it brings joy. But unfortunately, the industry is filled with a poor mindset. People often focus on criticizing films. I believe that when a film succeeds, it deserves to be celebrated. More successful films benefit the industry overall, boosting revenue and opportunities for everyone. This negative thinking shouldn’t exist.”

Praise for ‘Dhurandhar’

Emraan lauded the marketing and strategy behind the film, calling it a “brilliant move”, especially given that it is a two-part franchise. He added:

“Even though the film runs for nearly three and a half hours, people are watching it in afternoon shows and even early morning screenings. This is the power of cinema and audience discussion — it spreads like wildfire.”

Record-Breaking Success

‘Dhurandhar’ has made history as the highest-grossing Indian film in a single language, featuring stars like Ranveer Singh, Akshay Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan. Its sequel is slated for release in March, continuing the two-part franchise.

Emraan Hashmi’s Upcoming Project

Apart from films, Emraan will be seen in Neeraj Pandey’s Netflix crime drama ‘Taskari: The Smugglers Web’, streaming from January 14. The series explores the world of smuggling and relentless law enforcement, starring Anurag Sinha, Nandish Sandhu, and Amrita Khanvilkar alongside Emraan.

This candid insight reflects Hashmi’s perspective on celebrating commercial success while advocating for a more positive and encouraging mindset within Bollywood.
