Mumbai – Theatres are abuzz with the name of veteran actor Akshay Khanna. Following his sensational performance as a villain in the latest action-packed movie Dhurandhar, audiences, especially Gen Z, are left awestruck by his charisma and screen presence. Fans have even jokingly claimed, “Bro (Akshay) can eat 20 Rocky Bhai, 50 Pushpa, and 100 Salar for breakfast,” reflecting their admiration for the 50-year-old star.
Khanna, son of the legendary Vinod Khanna, made a powerful Bollywood debut in 1997 with Border and Himalay Putra, delivering memorable performances in hits like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Taal. Despite his early success, he often found himself restricted to supporting roles in films such as Mom, Drishyam 2, and Section 375.
However, at 50, Akshay Khanna has redefined the villain role, leaving a lasting impression in Dhurandhar and earlier in 2025’s Chhawa. Theatre-goers are calling his performance a masterclass, noting how he effortlessly dominates the screen, even outshining younger actors. Videos from theatres show fans cheering, crying, and applauding, cementing Khanna’s aura as one of the most commanding actors in Indian cinema today.
