In a groundbreaking development in devotional cinema, singer Kanhaiya Mittal has created the first-ever AI-powered film on Lord Khatu Shyam. Following the announcement of the AI-assisted series “Sant” on Neem Karoli Baba, this new project brings the revered deity’s stories to life using artificial intelligence. A teaser for the film, titled “Jai Jai Baba Shyam,” was released a few weeks ago, generating excitement among devotees and movie enthusiasts alike.
A Devotee’s Vision
Kanhaiya Mittal, who has been singing bhajans since the age of seven and holds deep devotion to Lord Khatu Shyam, aims to present the deity’s past life, reincarnation, and divine stories through this AI-assisted film. In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, he explained that the project also emphasizes the importance of responsible technology use. “These days, AI is often misused to create deepfake videos, which is wrong. Through this film, I want to show how AI can be used for positive and meaningful purposes,” he said.
Why AI Instead of Actors?
When asked why he chose AI over casting a live actor to portray Lord Khatu Shyam, Mittal explained that he wanted to avoid attributing divine status to any human actor. “It would be inappropriate for people to see an actor as God and worship them. While creativity is subjective, I felt AI was the right choice for this project,” he said.
Challenges in Making the Film
Creating a film on Lord Khatu Shyam using AI was not without hurdles. Mittal revealed that syncing dialogues and generating accurate character representations required considerable effort and patience. “Sometimes the dialogues didn’t match, and creating each character took time. But with Lord Shyam’s grace, everything gradually fell into place,” he added.
The film’s official release date has not yet been announced, but the teaser is already creating anticipation among devotees eager to experience this innovative portrayal of Lord Khatu Shyam.
