Fan Dies of Heart Attack While Watching Chiranjeevi’s ‘Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu’ in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Excitement turned into tragedy for fans of South superstar Chiranjeevi on the release day of his latest film, Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu. The Telugu action-comedy hit the theaters on January 12, 2026, but a devoted fan lost his life while watching the movie in a Hyderabad cinema.

According to reports, the incident took place at Arjun Theatre in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, during the film’s first-day screening. The fan suddenly collapsed due to a suspected heart attack. Theatre staff immediately informed the authorities, and doctors pronounced him dead on the spot. Police confirmed that the death was caused by a cardiac arrest, and investigations are ongoing. The final cause will be determined after medical examinations.

Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, written and directed by Anil Ravipudi and produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela, features Chiranjeevi in the lead role, alongside Nayanthara and Catherine Tresa. The film, with a runtime of 165 minutes, was shot across Hyderabad, Kerala, Mussoorie, and Dehradun, with music composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. Its reported budget is ₹100 crore.

The tragic event has left fans mourning the loss of a fellow admirer on what was meant to be a day of celebration for Chiranjeevi’s latest cinematic release.
