Mumbai: Reality TV star Sagar Thakur, popularly known as Maxtern, has revealed shocking details about his two-year-old dispute with social media influencer and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav during the premiere episode of the reality show The 50. Maxtern claimed that during their altercation, Elvish had transferred ₹1 lakh into his account without consent.
The Controversy Resurfaces
The conflict dates back to 2024, when an alleged physical altercation between Elvish and Maxtern went viral online, leading to an FIR against Elvish. Elvish defended himself, claiming that Maxtern had threatened him and his parents, alleging that the accusations were fabricated to gain social media followers. Later, television personality Rajat Dalal mediated between the two, resulting in reconciliation and clarification that the incident was due to a misunderstanding.
Unexpected Transfer of ₹1 Lakh
Maxtern recounted to co-contestant Prince Narula that Elvish had once asked him to check his bank account, where he found ₹1 lakh deposited. “I had no idea about the money or why it was transferred,” Maxtern said. Elvish reportedly told him, “Let’s work together,” which left Maxtern emotionally affected given his mental state at the time.
Music Video Incident
Maxtern also described a music video shoot arranged by Elvish, where a scene depicted Maxtern being slapped. “I was surprised he added that scene, but I thought it was part of the artistic process,” Maxtern said. He added that the video aimed to counter the negative attention Elvish had been receiving online.
Confusion and Questions Remain
Maxtern remains unsure why the ₹1 lakh was sent. “I don’t know if it was meant to trap me or for some other reason. I returned the money when asked by Elvish’s associate Laxya, but I still don’t understand the motive,” he stated.
Prince Narula Weighs In
Prince, who has also had past disputes with Elvish, advised Maxtern to use social media wisely. “I made the mistake of dragging a conflict online to prove a point. One should distinguish between reel and real,” he said.
What’s Next on The 50
Interestingly, Laxya Kaushik, mentioned in Maxtern’s story, is also a contestant on The 50. Viewers may see Maxtern address the matter with him in upcoming episodes, potentially resolving past issues or sparking new confrontations.
The 50 airs from Monday to Sunday at 10:30 PM on Colors TV and at 9 PM on the JioHotstar app.
