Drishyam 3: Mohanlal’s Film to Release Six Months Before Ajay Devgn’s Hindi Version

The release date for Mohanlal’s much-anticipated Malayalam film Drishyam 3 has been officially announced. Director Jeethu Joseph confirmed that the film will hit theaters in the first week of April 2026. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s Hindi adaptation of Drishyam 3 is scheduled to release six months later, on 2 October 2026.

The announcement has set the stage for an interesting clash between South Indian cinema and Bollywood. While Mohanlal reprises his iconic role as Georgekutty in the Malayalam version, Ajay Devgn is preparing the Hindi adaptation, continuing the legacy of the Drishyam franchise. The first two installments, released in 2013 and 2022 respectively, were major hits, with audiences appreciating the suspenseful storytelling and Mohanlal’s compelling performance.

Speaking at the inauguration of a hospital, Jeethu Joseph shared, “Drishyam is a film that has touched many lives over the years. I request all viewers to watch it without any high expectations and simply enjoy the experience. The film will release in theaters in the first week of April. Our official release announcement will follow soon.” He also mentioned that his other film, Valathu Vasthhe Kallan, is set to release on 30 January 2026.

Earlier reports had suggested that both the Malayalam and Hindi versions of Drishyam 3 might release simultaneously. However, it has now been confirmed that Mohanlal’s Malayalam version will premiere in April, followed by Ajay Devgn’s Hindi version six months later.

The story of Drishyam 3 picks up from where the second installment left off, with Georgekutty going to great lengths to protect his family. The franchise has been adapted into multiple languages, including Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Telugu, further cementing its pan-Indian appeal.
