‘Don 3’ Faces Major Setbacks: After Ranveer Singh, Hrithik Roshan Also Opts Out

Farhan Akhtar’s highly anticipated Don 3 is facing one setback after another. Earlier, Ranveer Singh had stepped away from the project. Reports then suggested that Hrithik Roshan might replace him. However, sources now confirm that Hrithik too will not be part of the film due to prior commitments.

After enjoying the success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh had officially exited Don 3. Following this, rumors circulated that Hrithik Roshan would take the lead, given his cameo in Don 2. These reports have now been dismissed, with insiders confirming that Hrithik is fully occupied with his upcoming projects, including the highly awaited Krrish 4 and a pan-India film under Hombale Films.

The Don franchise has a rich legacy. The original Don, released in 1978, was written by Salim-Javed and directed by Chandra Barot, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Pran, and Om Shivpuri. It was the third highest-grossing film of that year. The 2006 remake featured Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal, Boman Irani, and Om Puri. While Shah Rukh played the lead in previous installments, he will not be part of Don 3.

Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan is dedicating time to his family. He recently enjoyed a trip to Uttarakhand and attended his cousin Ishan Roshan’s wedding, where he performed with his sons Rehan and Ridan, delighting the guests with his dance moves.

With both Ranveer Singh and Hrithik Roshan stepping away, the makers of Don 3 face fresh challenges in casting the film’s lead, leaving fans curious about who will ultimately don the iconic role.
