The teaser of the much-anticipated sequel Dhurandhar 2, officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has finally been released, reigniting excitement among fans of the blockbuster franchise. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the sequel promises a darker, more intense continuation of the story, with Ranveer Singh returning as undercover Indian spy Hamza Ali Mazari.
Released on Tuesday, the 1-minute-12-second teaser offers a glimpse into the volatile underworld politics of Lyari, Karachi, setting the stage for a high-stakes espionage drama. The visuals suggest that Hamza’s grip over the region — and the dangers surrounding him — will form the emotional and political core of the sequel.
The first Dhurandhar, released in December last year, emerged as one of the biggest box-office successes in Indian cinema. The teaser indicates that the sequel will pick up from the dramatic closing moments of the original film, exploring the fallout of intelligence failures and the personal risks faced by deep-cover operatives.
Fans flooded social media with reactions shortly after the teaser drop, with many predicting record-breaking box-office numbers. Some viewers described the franchise as “more than a film — a movement,” expressing confidence that the sequel could surpass the original’s earnings.
The story continues to follow Hamza, an Indian intelligence agent embedded in Pakistan under a false identity. While the first film depicted his efforts to transmit sensitive intelligence to India, it also highlighted a devastating lapse that failed to prevent a major terror attack. The sequel is expected to delve into the consequences of that failure, Hamza’s loyalty to his mission, and his confrontation with criminal and extremist networks tied to Lyari’s gang wars.
Alongside the teaser, the makers unveiled a first-look poster featuring Ranveer Singh in an intense, rain-soaked avatar, hinting at a revenge-driven narrative. Singh shared the poster across social media in multiple languages, underscoring the film’s pan-India ambitions.
Unlike the original, which released only in Hindi, Dhurandhar: The Revenge will hit theatres in five languages — Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam — on March 19, 2026.
Online fan theories have already begun circulating about possible plot twists, including speculation surrounding a secret diary maintained by Hamza and whether it could become a liability. While the makers have kept story details tightly under wraps, anticipation around the sequel continues to build.
