Domestically, it has become the fourth highest-grossing film in the country, while overseas, it has even surpassed Pushpa 2 in box office collections.
All-Time Blockbuster Status
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar continues to win the hearts of cinema-goers while setting new box office records every day. Starring Ranveer Singh and Akshay Khanna in lead roles, the film has now officially become an all-time blockbuster, dominating the box office with its phenomenal earnings.
Set against the backdrop of major terrorist incidents such as the Kandahar plane hijacking, the 2001 Parliament attack, and the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Dhurandhar tells the story of India’s intelligence operations against Pakistan. The film has resonated strongly not only in India but across the world, achieving staggering global revenue.
Box Office Collections: Day 40
According to Sacnilk reports, on its sixth Tuesday, the film earned ₹2.50 crore, bringing its domestic total to ₹810.50 crore. In just 40 days, the film’s worldwide collection has crossed ₹1,262 crore, with overseas earnings alone reaching ₹290 crore.
India’s Fourth Biggest Film
With a domestic haul of ₹810.50 crore, Dhurandhar now ranks as India’s fourth highest-grossing film. The third spot is held by KGF: Chapter 2 (2022), which collected ₹859.7 crore across five languages including Hindi, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil. The top position remains with Pushpa 2, which earned ₹1,234.1 crore domestically, followed by Prabhas’ Baahubali 2 at ₹1,030.42 crore.
Overseas Triumph: Beating Pushpa 2
While KGF 2 earned ₹214.15 crore internationally, Pushpa 2 managed ₹271 crore in its lifetime overseas. Dhurandhar, however, has now surpassed these numbers, asserting itself as a global box office sensation.
Cast Speaks: Sara Arjun on Audience Power
Forty days since release, Dhurandhar has showcased stellar performances from Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, and Rakesh Bedi. Actress Sara Arjun said, “To my strongest Dhurandhar, the audience… For long, there was a belief that viewers no longer have the patience for long stories, that attention spans are short and cinema is losing its space. You proved everyone wrong. You reminded everyone of the true power of the audience.”
Gang Wars and Violent Dominance
The film’s storyline unfolds in Karachi’s Lyari area, notorious for gang wars and violent supremacy battles. The second installment of the franchise is scheduled for release on March 19, 2026.
