Box Office Update: Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O Romeo’ Sees Growth on Tuesday; ‘Mardaani 3’ and ‘Border 2’ Outperform Shanaya Kapoor’s ‘Tu Yaa Main’

Mumbai, February 18, 2026:
Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri starrer ‘O Romeo’, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, witnessed a noticeable rise in collections on Tuesday, showing positive momentum at the domestic box office. While the film continues to perform at a moderate pace, it has managed to stay ahead of Bijoy Nambiar’s survival thriller ‘Tu Yaa Main’, starring debutant Shanaya Kapoor and actor Adarsh Gourav, which has struggled significantly since its release.

Meanwhile, films like ‘Mardaani 3’ and ‘Border 2’ are also maintaining stronger box office performance compared to ‘Tu Yaa Main’.

‘O Romeo’ Shows Improvement on Day 5

According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘O Romeo’ collected approximately ₹5 crore on its fifth day (Tuesday), marking an increase compared to its Monday earnings of ₹4.85 crore.

With this, the film’s total domestic collection has reached around ₹40 crore, while its worldwide box office collection has climbed to ₹62.5 crore.
However, considering the film’s reported budget of nearly ₹130 crore, the overall pace of earnings is still being viewed as slower than expected.

Film’s Storyline Set in 1995 Mumbai

Set in Mumbai in 1995, ‘O Romeo’ features Shahid Kapoor in the role of a dangerous contract killer named Ustra, who lives on an old ship near the sea. The plot revolves around crime, power struggles, and a mysterious relationship between Ustra and Afshan (Triptii Dimri), whose motives remain unclear for a major part of the film.

The story also highlights the complicated equation between Ustra and Inspector Khan, played by veteran actor Nana Patekar.

‘Tu Yaa Main’ Continues to Sink at the Box Office

In sharp contrast, ‘Tu Yaa Main’, reportedly made on a budget of ₹35 crore, has performed poorly at the box office since Day 1. Despite being a survival thriller with modern themes like influencer culture and contemporary relationships, the film has failed to attract audiences.

On its fifth day (Tuesday), the film earned only ₹45 lakh, taking its total domestic collection to approximately ₹3.7 crore, while its worldwide earnings stand at around ₹3.85 crore.

Industry observers believe the film may soon be counted among the biggest box office disasters of the year.

‘Border 2’ Continues Strong Run

Released on January 23, 2026, war drama ‘Border 2’ continues to perform strongly even after 26 days in theatres. On its 26th day, the film collected around ₹80 lakh, pushing its total domestic box office collection to ₹323.25 crore.

The film has also earned an impressive ₹441.95 crore worldwide, proving to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.

‘Mardaani 3’ Stays Ahead

The crime thriller ‘Mardaani 3’, made on an estimated budget of ₹60 crore, continues to outperform ‘Tu Yaa Main’. On its 19th day, the film collected ₹60 lakh, taking its total domestic earnings to ₹45.35 crore and worldwide collection to approximately ₹67.3 crore.

The film follows fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy, who takes on a dangerous criminal network involving high-profile kidnappings, missing girls, child trafficking, and a beggar mafia system.
