Box Office Update: ‘Dhurandhar’ Dominates on Day 26, Surpasses ‘Padmavat’; ‘Avatar 3’ Crosses ₹7,300 Cr Worldwide

Ranveer Singh continues to reign at the box office as his film Dhurandhar shows no signs of slowing down. On its 26th day, the action-drama outperformed expectations, surpassing other big releases and even outperforming the domestic collections of Padmavat. Meanwhile, James Cameron’s Avatar 3 continues to dominate globally, crossing the ₹7,300 crore mark worldwide, though it has yet to reach ₹150 crore in India.

Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, opened with ₹28 crore and maintained a strong momentum throughout its run. In the first week, it collected ₹207.25 crore, followed by ₹253.25 crore in the second week and ₹172 crore in the third. On its 26th day, 30 December, the film earned ₹11.25 crore, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹712.25 crore—far exceeding the net earnings of Ranveer’s previous hits such as Padmavat (₹302.15 crore), Simba (₹240.3 crore), Bajirao Mastani (₹184.3 crore), and Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani (₹153.55 crore). Remarkably, Dhurandhar continues to earn double-digit figures in India even after nearly four weeks, a feat few films have achieved.

Worldwide, Dhurandhar has reached ₹1,095.5 crore. While it trails behind global giants like Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan (₹1,160 crore), KGF Chapter 2 (₹1,215 crore), and RRR (₹1,250 crore), industry analysts expect it to challenge these records if its current pace continues through early January.

In comparison, Avatar 3, despite being released in six languages and in two parts, has underperformed in India, collecting ₹148.15 crore so far. On its 12th day, the film earned around ₹5.25 crore domestically. Globally, however, Avatar 3 continues to shatter records, with its cumulative earnings crossing ₹7,300 crore.

With Dhurandhar continuing its unstoppable streak in India and Avatar 3 dominating worldwide, the box office battle is intensifying, showcasing Ranveer Singh’s remarkable pull among audiences.
