Mumbai, February 14, 2026:Bollywood blockbusters ‘Border 2’ and ‘Mardaani 3’ witnessed a slowdown at the box office on Friday, signaling a dip in audience turnout after weeks of strong performance. Sunny Deol’s ‘Border 2’, released on January 23, 2026, has completed three weeks but saw a sharp decline on its 22nd day, earning only ₹0.8 crore domestically. The film’s total domestic collection now stands at ₹318.55 crore, while worldwide it has amassed ₹436.15 crore, including ₹56.15 crore from international markets.
Similarly, Rani Mukerji’s ‘Mardaani 3’ is also experiencing dwindling earnings. On its 15th day, the thriller collected ₹0.6 crore in India, bringing its domestic total to ₹41.5 crore and global collections to ₹62 crore. Despite the slowdown, occupancy remained noticeable in key cities such as Lucknow, where evening shows reached up to 20% capacity.
Industry analysts note that the release of Shahid Kapoor’s romantic drama ‘O Romeo’ could further impact both films’ box office performance, although the genres cater to different audiences, which may help them sustain some collections over the Valentine’s Day weekend.
The slowdown highlights the changing dynamics of audience preferences and the competitive nature of Bollywood’s current release schedule. Both films, despite their recent dip, continue to perform respectably due to strong opening weeks and star-studded casts.
