Prabhas’ latest release, ‘The Raja Saab’, directed by Maruti, is facing a rough patch at the box office, even on its sixth day. The film’s performance is reportedly worse than his previous disasters like Adipurush and Saaho, despite opening with a worldwide gross of ₹100.60 crore on day one. By day six, the film struggled to cross ₹6 crore in India alone. Meanwhile, ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ has also slowed down in the Indian market.
Box Office Performance So Far
According to Sacnilk reports, The Raja Saab earned a net collection of just ₹5.25 crore across five Indian languages on Wednesday, a slight improvement over Tuesday’s ₹4.80 crore. Telugu screenings, however, show seats around 75% empty. After six days, the film has accumulated a net collection of ₹124.65 crore in India.
The film’s budget was ₹300 crore and it released in five languages. Despite heavy marketing, it has been struggling to attract audiences, with collections falling -51.63% on the second day and -26.54% on the following Sunday. With weekdays, the film has entered single-digit collections in India, and only a miracle can change its fortunes now.
Comparison with Prabhas’ Previous Flops
The Raja Saab is a setback for Prabhas’ stardom. Excluding hits like Baahubali 2, his last few films—Saaho, Radhe Shyam, and Adipurush—also underperformed. For context:
- Adipurush Day 6: ₹7.25 crore
- Saaho Day 6: ₹10.58 crore
- Radhe Shyam Day 6: ₹1.95 crore
