Box Office Day 1: Sholay Re-Release and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2

This Friday saw the release of multiple films at Indian theatres, including Ranveer Singh and Akshay Khanna’s Dhurandhar, Kapil Sharma’s comedy Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, and the classic cult film Sholay re-released after 50 years. While Kapil Sharma’s sequel struggled to impress audiences, the excitement around Sholay remained high due to its 4K restoration and the emotional connection with Dharmendra.

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2: Story & Day 1 Collection
The 2025 sequel to Kapil Sharma’s 2015 debut Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon follows Mohan (Kapil Sharma), who falls in love with Sania (Heera Varina) and plans to marry her. However, circumstances lead him into a web of three marriages, creating comic chaos around three wives and their identities.

According to Sacnilk reports, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 earned only ₹1.75 crore on its opening day. Worldwide collections are yet to be reported.

Sholay Re-Release: First Day Box Office
Ramesh Sippy’s iconic Sholay starring Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan was re-released as Sholay: The Final Cut in 4K Ultra HD. Fans were particularly eager to relive memories of Dharmendra, who passed away recently. The restored version includes the original climax and deleted scenes, enhancing the nostalgic experience for viewers.

Reports indicate that Sholay: The Final Cut earned ₹30 lakh on its first day in theatres. Audiences enjoyed seeing the classic chemistry of Jai-Veeru, the iconic Gabbar Singh sequences, and the romance between Dharmendra and Hema Malini, all presented with updated technical enhancements.

Other Box Office Highlights
Dhanush and Kriti Sanon’s Tere Ishq Mein continued to perform well, showing that strong storytelling can drive collections even into the second week. On its 15th day, the film earned around ₹1 crore on Friday, slightly lower than the earnings of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2.

The release of Sholay: The Final Cut offers audiences a unique opportunity to experience a 50-year-old classic with stunning visuals, while new releases like Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 highlight the challenges of meeting modern audience expectations.
