Mumbai: The latest season of Bigg Boss 19 has stirred controversy as fans allege misleading instructions during the voting process affected contestant eliminations. The issue has come to light following the eviction of contestant Mridul Tiwari, who had been praised for his honesty and decorum on the show.
According to one audience member present during the show’s live task, the rules were not clearly explained. She said, “We were told this was a captaincy task and that we could vote for anyone to become captain. None of us were informed that the contestant receiving the least votes would be evicted. Had we known, we would have voted differently.”
During the task, viewers were asked to vote for one of three contestants: GK, Pranit, and Mridul. GK, who had not yet become captain, was repeatedly attempting to secure the role. The audience member explained, “Naturally, we voted for GK. Mridul had already been captain before, and we didn’t want to repeat. We had no idea our votes would determine an eviction.”
Earlier, host Salman Khan had hinted during the show “Weekend Ka Vaar” that critical decisions were underway, saying, “It’s late now.” Fans now argue that his warning wasn’t clear enough regarding the consequences of the voting process.
Despite the confusion, Mridul Tiwari’s integrity on the show has been widely appreciated. One insider commented, “Whoever wins Bigg Boss 19, Mridul’s influence and the way the game was played will remain significant.”
The finale of Bigg Boss 19 is scheduled for December 2025 and will air at 9:00 PM on Jio Hotstar and 10:30 PM on Colors TV.
