Arijit Singh Turns Filmmaker: Son to Play Lead, Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Daughter Shora as Heroine

After retiring from playback singing, Arijit Singh is venturing into filmmaking, making his mark in the Hindi film industry. In his debut Hindi film, Arijit’s son will play the lead role, while Shora Siddiqui, daughter of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, will be the heroine. Filming is currently underway.

Although Arijit has stepped back from singing professionally, he will continue creating music. His retirement shocked millions of music lovers, but he has now shifted focus to filmmaking. In a social media post, he shared that he wanted to explore new creative avenues, and his decision to retire was made thoughtfully and courageously. He explained that his interests change quickly, which is why he keeps experimenting, and now this includes making films alongside music.

Film Details
According to Pinkvilla, the film is a jungle adventure produced by Arijit, his wife Koyal Singh, and Mahavir Jain. Besides Shora and Arijit’s son in lead roles, the film features Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a cameo and actor Dibyendu Bhattacharya. Koyal Singh co-wrote the screenplay and is excited about the project. The film is expected to be showcased at several film festivals before a pan-India release.

This is not Arijit’s first film as a filmmaker. In 2018, he produced the Bengali film ‘Sa’, which depicted a young boy’s journey in music, and his son Jule also acted in it.

Personal Life
Arijit has been married twice. Reports suggest his first marriage with ‘Fame Gurukul’ contestant Ruprekha Banerjee ended shortly, though this was never officially confirmed. In 2014, he married his childhood friend Koyal Roy, who now goes by Koyal Singh. The couple has two sons, Ayaan and Jule. Arijit is known for keeping his family life private, and details about which son is making his acting debut in this film have not been disclosed, though Jule has previously acted in ‘Sa’.
