Anup Jalota Pledges ₹5 Lakh for Rajpal Yadav; Celebrities Have Contributed ₹1.57 Crore So Far

Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav, currently serving a jail term in a cheque bounce case, continues to receive support from the film industry as his legal battle progresses. The latest to extend help is Bhajan singer and Bigg Boss contestant Anup Jalota, who announced that he will contribute ₹5 lakh to aid his friend in settling financial obligations.

Anup Jalota Offers Support
In a recent video statement, Jalota said, “I came to know about my friend Rajpal Yadav’s difficulties. He is in jail, and ups and downs are part of life. We must help our friends. I know many have already extended support, and I am also sending ₹5 lakh to assist him. I hope this helps in some way.”

Rajpal Yadav’s Legal Battle
Rajpal Yadav is serving a six-month jail term after the Delhi High Court rejected his last-minute plea for relief in the cheque bounce case. He had surrendered at Tihar Jail on February 5, 2026, following the court’s order.

Bollywood Stars Rally Behind Him
Several Bollywood celebrities have stepped forward to support Yadav during this difficult time, including Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn, Varun Dhawan, and Sonu Sood. Rajpal’s manager, Goldy, told SCREEN, “Many well-known personalities have come forward to help Rajpal Yadav. Actors like Sonu Sood, Salman Khan, and Ajay Devgn have extended their support. Recently, I also spoke to David Dhawan, and he has offered assistance. This time, several people are stepping forward to help, and Rajpal deeply appreciates it.”

  • Guru Randhawa announced that Rajpal Yadav will appear in his upcoming music video.
  • Tej Pratap Yadav pledged ₹11 lakh.
  • KRK offered ₹10 lakh.
  • Rao Inderjit Singh Yadav committed ₹1.1 crore.
  • Nawazuddin Siddiqui reportedly sent ₹10 lakh discreetly.
  • Mika Singh pledged ₹11 lakh.

Altogether, contributions from 13 individuals have reportedly totaled ₹1.57 crore so far.

Rajpal Yadav’s Outstanding Debt
Rajpal’s financial troubles date back to 2010, when he borrowed ₹5 crore from Murli Projects Pvt. Ltd. to produce his first directorial venture, Ata Pata Lappata, which flopped at the box office. Over time, with interest and penalties, the debt has ballooned to ₹9 crore. Speaking to Bollywood Hungama before surrendering, Yadav said, “Sir, what can I do? I don’t have the money, and there’s no other way. Everyone in the industry is on their own.”
