Another Blow for Spirit: After Deepika, Prakash Raj Exits, Sandeep Reddy Vanga Faces Controversy

The much-anticipated film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and starring Telugu superstar Prabhas, has hit another setback. After actress Deepika Padukone reportedly left the project, national award-winning actor Prakash Raj has also walked out, leaving fans shocked.

Creative Differences Behind the Exit

Reports suggest that Prakash Raj, initially cast in a pivotal role, exited the film due to creative differences with director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Sources indicate that a disagreement over the shooting of a particular scene and its execution escalated tensions on set. This, combined with reportedly poor coordination with the production team, led to the actor stepping away from the project.

Neither the makers nor Prakash Raj have issued an official statement, but the news has already caused a stir in the industry.

Deepika Padukone’s Earlier Exit

This is not the first major departure from Spirit. In 2024, reports surfaced that Deepika Padukone had exited the film after requesting extensive changes, including 8-hour shooting shifts, higher remuneration, and a share of the film’s profits—demands that reportedly clashed with the director’s vision.

A Pan-India Project

Spirit is being produced as a Pan-India film, both written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The latest developments raise questions about the film’s final cast and production timeline, keeping fans and the industry on edge.
