Akshaye Khanna’s performance in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar has taken audiences by storm, with his portrayal of Rahman, the feared dacoit, leaving viewers mesmerized. While his intense acting is being widely praised, another aspect of his entry scene—the song Fa9la—has become an internet sensation, attracting attention from India and beyond.
The Song Behind the Madness
Fa9la, performed by Bahraini rapper Flipperachi, is a unique Khaleeji-style hip-hop track. Composed by Shashwat Sachdev for Dhurandhar, the song elevates Akshaye Khanna’s powerful entry scene to cinematic brilliance. Originally released in 2024, Fa9la had already amassed over 7 million views on YouTube, but the movie’s release catapulted the track to unprecedented popularity in India. Fans are now using it extensively on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, and even Bollywood star Ranveer Singh shared it on his social media.
Improvised Dance Moves Steal the Show
Akshaye Khanna’s dance on Fa9la has become a talking point, reminiscent of Bobby Deol’s iconic Jamal Kudu dance from Animal. Surprisingly, the dance moves were entirely improvised by Khanna himself. Co-star Danish Pandor revealed in an interview with Filmgyaan that the choreography team had planned other moves, but Akshaye asked director Aditya Dhar mid-shoot if he could dance his own way. With permission granted, he observed the ongoing scene and spontaneously delivered his own captivating performance.
Inspired by Balochistan’s Traditional ‘Chaap’ Dance
Interestingly, the dance performed by Akshaye Khanna is inspired by the traditional Balochistan folk dance Chaap, previously showcased in a Coke Studio Explorer video. This fusion of traditional rhythm with modern hip-hop has created a visually stunning cinematic moment.
About Flipperachi
Flipperachi, whose real name is Hussam Aseem, is considered one of the most talented young artists in the Arab hip-hop scene. He began exploring music at the age of 12 and started rapping as a teenager. In 2003, he officially launched his career, and in 2024, he won the Bahraini Artist of the Year award. Some of his popular tracks include E La, Shino Alkalem Hatha, Shoufa, and Naida.
Dhurandhar’s Cast and Box Office Performance
Alongside Akshaye Khanna, Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. Released on December 5, 2025, the film has made a stunning mark at the box office, collecting ₹126.25 crore domestically and ₹193 crore worldwide within the first four days.
With its gripping performances, catchy music, and innovative dance sequences, Dhurandhar continues to dominate discussions online and in theatres across India.
