Akshaye Khanna on Marriage and Children: “I Have No Interest in Having Kids, I Want a Carefree Life”

Actor Akshaye Khanna, who has been making waves with his role as Rehman Daku in the film ‘Dhurandhar’, recently opened up about his personal life, particularly his views on marriage and parenthood. Khanna, now in his 50s, has made it clear that he has no desire to have children or settle down traditionally.

“I Have No Interest in Having Children”
In a candid interview, Khanna said, “I have no hobby or interest in having children. Some people dream of having a family, a wife, kids, and a happy household—but I don’t. Family, children—these things don’t excite me. It’s not an ambition of mine.” He added with a smile, “Strange, isn’t it?”

Society’s Rules Don’t Define Me
Akshaye further explained, “I don’t have a dream of seeing children playing in the garden while I do gardening. These are societal rules, predetermined ideas that life should follow a certain path—marriage at a certain age, work at a certain age, retirement at a certain age. But I’ve made my own choices.”

On Marriage and Public Curiosity
When asked whether he should settle down, Khanna expressed irritation, saying, “I’ve already ‘married’ my world. It’s frustrating when people, who barely know you, constantly ask about marriage.”

Living a Carefree Life
Khanna emphasized his desire for freedom and a stress-free life: “I prefer to live alone, without responsibilities. I want a completely carefree life. I enjoy living independently, without having to take care of anyone else, without worrying for anyone. I can focus on myself and my happiness. I am living a fantastic life.”

At a time when societal pressure often dictates life choices, Akshaye Khanna stands out as a celebrity choosing personal freedom and contentment over conventional expectations of marriage and parenthood.
