A light-hearted yet memorable moment unfolded on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 17 when Agastya Nanda, grandson of Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, found himself hilariously stuck between his grandparents during a special episode of the iconic quiz show.
Agastya, who is currently busy promoting his upcoming war drama Ikkis, appeared on the show alongside his mother Shweta Bachchan and sister Navya Naveli Nanda. The recently released promo has gone viral, with viewers enjoying the playful banter and family camaraderie.
The moment of confusion arose when a member of the audience posed a seemingly simple yet tricky question to the young actor:
“Who is your favourite — your grandfather or your grandmother?”
Caught off guard, Agastya hesitated before replying with a smile,
“This is very difficult… no, no, next question please.”
However, Amitabh Bachchan, hosting the show, insisted on an answer, saying,
“No, no, let him speak. We want to know.”
Agastya’s hesitation sparked laughter across the studio, but it was actor Jaideep Ahlawat’s sharp wit that truly stole the moment. Taking a humorous dig, he remarked:
“If you want to get beaten in the vanity van, take your grandmother’s name. And if you want to get beaten at home, take your grandfather’s name.”
The comment left Shweta Bachchan and Navya Naveli Nanda laughing uncontrollably, adding to the episode’s charm.
Agastya Nanda will soon be seen in Ikkis, a war drama based on the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The film depicts his bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war at the Battle of Basantar. The title Ikkis signifies the young officer’s age—21—when he laid down his life for the nation.
Recently, Amitabh Bachchan also shared an emotional note after watching Ikkis, expressing pride in his grandson’s performance.
The upcoming KBC 17 episode promises not only inspiration and patriotism but also heartfelt family moments and humour that audiences have come to love.
