Ahead of its premiere, the makers have shared a deeply emotional video featuring a heartfelt poem recited in Dharmendra’s own voice—leaving fans across the world moved to tears.
Dharmendra and Asrani Together One Last Time
The makers of Ikkis recently released a soulful poem narrated by the late Dharmendra, marking his last appearance on screen. The poem, filmed on the legendary actor, reflects themes of roots, homeland, and nostalgia, resonating with millions of his admirers. For many fans, this is the final opportunity to see and hear him on the big screen.
Interestingly, the video also features veteran actor Asrani—who passed away in October—making the film a bittersweet reunion of two legends who have both left the world just a month apart.
A Timeless Tribute Shared by the Makers
Maddock Films, the production house behind Ikkis, released the poem on Friday morning across social media platforms. In an emotional caption, they wrote:
“Dharam ji was a true son of the soil, and his words carry the fragrance of our land. This poem is a longing—an ode from one legend to another. Thank you for blessing us with this timeless gift.”
The Soul of the Poem: A Return to His Roots
The visuals show Dharmendra’s character returning to his native village in Punjab. He revisits his old home, reunites with childhood friends, and relives cherished memories.
The poem captures raw emotion through lines such as:
“Aaj bhi ji karda hai, pind apne nu jaawa… I still long to return to my village.”
He speaks fondly of bathing in the pond with cattle, playing kabaddi with friends, and reliving the innocence of childhood. He ends the poem remembering his mother, saying that nothing compares to the life of the village.
