Jaipur/Mumbai: Actor Raghav Tiwari, who stars in the web series Taskari: The Smugglers Web, recently recounted a harrowing road rage incident that occurred during the shoot of the series, which left him with stitches on his head.
Speaking about the incident, Raghav said, “When you are away from your family in a city like Mumbai, your industry colleagues and friends become your second family. Last year, during a road rage episode, I experienced this firsthand. The support I received from the entire Taskari team was truly overwhelming.”
Raghav plays the role of Customs Officer Vincent Roy in the series, an important member of Emraan Hashmi’s team. He recalled, “The day after the incident, news and social media helped spread the information about what happened to me. Many people I knew in Mumbai reached out via calls and visits to check on me and offer support.”
He further added, “Ten days later, I was scheduled to shoot the next scene. On set, Director Raghav Jeyrath personally checked on me before the shoot began and assured me that I could reach out to him if I faced any difficulty. By then, I had already started recovering, and the stitches on my head were removed. The cast and crew were extremely supportive throughout, always looking after me.”
A Unique Perspective on Aviation
Raghav highlighted how the series offered a fresh perspective on airport and aviation operations. “Through Neeraj Pandey’s concept, the show presents the aviation world differently. We learned how the customs team identifies smugglers among ordinary passengers—a perspective completely new to us.”
Smooth Shoot Despite Challenges
Raghav also praised the production team for handling public-place shoots efficiently. “Shooting in public spaces is always challenging, but thanks to the intelligent direction by Neeraj Pandey and Raghav Jeyrath, the limited shooting time at the airport went smoothly without disrupting airport operations or the shoot schedule. The chemistry between both directors was remarkable.”
He also shared a lighter moment on set: “Neeraj Pandey sir mingled easily with everyone, while I had a funny interaction with Director Raghav Jeyrath because of our same first name. He greeted me with ‘Hi, I’m Raghav,’ and I replied, ‘I’m Raghav too, sir,’ which made everyone smile.”
Series Release and Cast
Taskari: The Smugglers Web, a thriller series, premiered on Netflix on January 14. Alongside Emraan Hashmi and Raghav Tiwari, the series features Sharad Kelkar, Nandish Sandhu, Amruta Khanvilkar, Zoya Afroz, Virendra Saxena, Jameel Khan, Freddy Daruwala, and several other talented actors.
