Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has finally addressed the persistent rumors about a divorce with his wife, Aishwarya Rai. In a recent interview, he clarified that he and Aishwarya share a deep understanding of each other and maintain a happy family, adding that he will not tolerate falsehoods or negativity about his loved ones.
Addressing the Divorce Speculations
Rumors about Abhishek and Aishwarya’s separation had made headlines last year, especially after the couple attended Anant Ambani’s wedding separately in July 2024. Speculations of a split spread rapidly, but the Bachchans remained private about the matter. Now, Abhishek has openly responded, asserting the strength of their bond.
Speaking to Peeping Moon, Abhishek said, “Earlier, people were concerned about when we would get married. Now they’re talking about divorce. My wife knows my truth, and I know hers. We are a happy and healthy family, and that’s all that matters to us.”
Navigating Industry Rumors
Abhishek, who has been in the film industry for 25 years, explained how being part of the same industry as his wife helps him handle such speculations. “Being raised in the film industry and married to someone from the industry has its advantages when dealing with rumors. I say this with respect and humility: the media often spreads incorrect news. In today’s fast-paced world, we are expected to be first with news, but ultimately, we’re talking about a person’s life.”
Protecting His Family
On defending his family, Abhishek added, “As a father and a husband, I have responsibilities. If anyone talks about my family, they will have to face me. I won’t tolerate nonsense about my family. This might sound strong, but I speak this out of responsibility, not pride. That’s where the matter ends.”
He also reflected on the nature of public negativity, saying in a past interview with ETimes, “Those spreading false information neither care for clarity nor correction. Earlier, it didn’t affect me, but now I have a family. Even if I clarify something, people will twist it because negative news sells. They are not living my life, and they are not accountable to those I am responsible for.”
Concluding, Abhishek remarked, “Negativity affects only those who let it. I know the industry’s challenges and the complexities it brings, including family matters. But it doesn’t affect me personally.”
