A Year Later, Ranveer Singh Apologizes to Journalist for Past Behavior; Deepika Padukone Tried to Cover

Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh, riding high on the success of his film Dhurandhar, recently apologized to a senior journalist for his behavior during a past interview. The journalist revealed that on that day, Ranveer was in a bad mood, and his conduct was not cordial. Actress Deepika Padukone, who was present during the interview, attempted to smooth things over.

The Incident
The journalist, Bhavana Somaya, shared her experience on the Women’s Social Corner YouTube channel. She said, “I had gone to interview Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone for Bajirao Mastani. For some reason, Ranveer was not in a good mood that day, and his behavior with me was not appropriate. Deepika understood the situation and tried to cover for him. I also tried to reason with him, considering my seniority, but his mood was off, and we had to stop the interview.”

Bhavana further explained that although she initially refrained from reporting the incident negatively, she later assured Ranveer that her critique of his work would remain professional and fair.

Apology After a Year
After the incident, Bhavana stopped communicating with Ranveer. However, a year later, Ranveer approached her and said, “Madam, a year has passed, now let’s forget about it.” Bhavana responded, “Alright, I will forget it.”

Current Success of ‘Dhurandhar’
Ranveer Singh’s latest film Dhurandhar has been a blockbuster, collecting approximately ₹980 crore worldwide. On its 21st day, the film earned a bumper ₹26 crore on Christmas Day alone. Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel, Dhurandhar 2, which is set to release on 19 March 2026. While Dhurandhar was released only in Hindi, its sequel will have a pan-India release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, in addition to Hindi.
