
Lucknow, UP: Candidates aspiring to join the Uttar Pradesh Home Guard now have a major update. The UP Home Guard Recruitment Exam 2025 has been scheduled for 25, 26, and 27 April 2026. The exam will be conducted over six shifts across three days, with two shifts per day. Aspirants can check the official schedule on the UPPRPB website: uppbpb.gov.in.
Exam Pattern and Preparation Tips
A key highlight of the Home Guard written exam is its focus on General Knowledge (GK) only. Unlike many other competitive exams, questions from Mathematics, Reasoning, English, or Hindi will not be included. The exam will consist of 100 GK questions, each carrying one mark. Candidates must score at least 25% to qualify for the next stage. The exam duration is 2 hours.
Aspirants are advised to strengthen their GK, especially on current affairs, as it plays a crucial role in the selection process.

Physical Standards
Candidates clearing the written exam will appear for physical measurement and verification. Minimum height requirements:
- Men: 168 cm (ST category: 160 cm)
- Chest (men): 79 cm unexpanded, 84 cm expanded
- Women: 152 cm (ST category: 147 cm)
Physical Efficiency Test
The physical efficiency test includes running:
- Men: 4.8 km in 28 minutes
- Women: 2.4 km in 16 minutes
Candidates passing the physical test will proceed to the medical examination stage.
With over 41,000 vacancies up for grabs, candidates are advised to plan their preparation carefully, focusing on GK and physical fitness, to maximize their chances of selection.
