Success Story: Shivani Defies Societal Pressure, Becomes Deputy Collector

Some decisions have the power to change lives. Shivani’s journey to success is one such story—a tale of courage, determination, and unwavering focus in the face of social and financial challenges.

From Village Girl to Civil Servant
Shivani hails from Sirali village in Harda district, Madhya Pradesh. Coming from a modest family, she had dreams much bigger than her surroundings. She completed her early education in a local government school and moved to Bhopal for higher studies after her 12th grade. It was here that her real struggle began.

Balancing her studies and her dream of joining the government service, Shivani faced several hurdles. The COVID-19 pandemic brought financial hardships, but she persevered, preparing for multiple competitive exams while keeping her ultimate goal in sight—becoming a civil servant.

Facing Setbacks and Pushing Forward
In 2023, Shivani attempted the MPPSC exam but could not clear it. Undeterred, she continued her preparation in Indore, tackling six mains papers despite battling fever and health issues. Her commitment never wavered, even as societal pressures mounted.

Family’s Condition: ‘Study at Home or Get Married’
During this period, her family gave her an ultimatum: focus on studies at home or get married. Shivani chose to continue her preparation, determined to achieve her goal. Her perseverance paid off when she secured Rank 11 in the 2024 MPPSC exam, earning the prestigious post of Deputy Collector.

Changing Mindsets Along the Way
Shivani’s success is more than just an exam victory. As a Deputy Collector, she has challenged societal norms and inspired countless others who might otherwise yield to social pressures. Her story demonstrates that with courage, determination, and resilience, no obstacle is insurmountable. Shivani herself shared her inspiring journey on Instagram, motivating young aspirants across the country.
