Study in the UK: University of Sheffield Offers Scholarships Worth £3,000 for PG Students — Check Eligibility

The United Kingdom remains one of the most sought-after destinations for higher education, attracting thousands of Indian students every year. While British universities are renowned for their world-class education and globally respected degrees, the high cost of studying in the UK—especially at the postgraduate level—forces many students to rethink their plans.

To ease this burden, one of the UK’s top institutions, the University of Sheffield, has announced a major financial relief for PG aspirants.

£3,000 Scholarship for PG Students

The University of Sheffield has introduced the ‘International Postgraduate Scholarship’, offering £3,000 (approx. ₹3.5 lakh) to students enrolling in its postgraduate programmes for the September 2026 intake.

The scholarship amount will be provided as a discount on tuition fees. Only students who hold a valid admission offer letter are eligible to be considered.

No Separate Application Required

Unlike many other international scholarships, Sheffield’s scholarship requires no separate application.
If a student receives an offer letter before 7 July 2026, their profile will automatically be evaluated for the award.

If the university finds the candidate suitable, the scholarship will be granted.
However, this award cannot be clubbed with any other scholarship.

Indian students are fully eligible to receive this benefit.

Who Can Apply? Eligibility Highlights

To be considered for the scholarship:

  • Students must apply to the University of Sheffield for a full-time or part-time postgraduate course.
  • Scholarships are not available for:
  • Online or distance-learning programmes
  • Clinical or medical-related courses
  • For two-year postgraduate degrees, the scholarship will be provided in the second year, after successful completion of the first year.

The initiative aims to make UK education more accessible by reducing financial pressure on international students, especially those from countries like India where the cost of studying abroad is a major concern.
