Schools Winter Vacation 2026: Haryana Schools to Remain Closed for 19 Days from 1st January

Haryana’s schools are set for a long winter break as the state government announces 19 days of closure from 25th December 2025 to 1st January 2026. All government and private schools will observe winter vacation starting 1st January 2026 due to extreme cold and chilly weather conditions.

According to the official notice issued by the Directorate of School Education, Haryana, winter vacation will continue from 1st January to 16th January 2026, with schools reopening on Friday, 16th January 2026. Schools have been instructed to strictly follow this schedule.

Important Details for Students:

  • Students from classes 10 to 12 may be required to attend school for practical exams during the winter vacation, in line with CBSE and ICSE board schedules.
  • Prior to the winter break, schools will remain closed for four days in December due to public holidays and festivals: 25th December (Christmas Day), 26th December (Shaheed Udham Singh Jayanti), 27th December (Guru Gobind Singh Jayanti), and 28th December (Sunday).

Winter Vacation in Delhi:
Similarly, in Delhi, schools will remain closed until 15th January 2026, according to the official academic calendar released by the Delhi Directorate of Education, which includes all public holidays and winter vacation dates.

With these extended holidays, students and teachers can enjoy a well-deserved winter break while preparing for upcoming academic schedules and board exams.
