School Admissions 2026: Key Documents Required for EWS Seats in Delhi Private Schools

The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has commenced the EWS (Economically Weaker Section) admissions for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 for the academic session 2026-27 from February 21, 2026. Parents filling online applications are advised to prepare certain mandatory documents in advance to ensure a smooth admission process.

Essential Documents for EWS Admissions in Delhi Private Schools

As per ewsadmissions.delhi.gov.in, the following documents must be ready before applying:

  1. Child’s Birth Certificate – A clear and legible scanned copy issued under the Birth, Death, and Marriages Act 1969. Hospital records, ANM register records, Anganwadi records, or a parent’s affidavit regarding the child’s age are also accepted.
  2. Proof of Current Address – Any one of the following documents:
  • Ration Card/Food Security Card issued by GNCT Delhi (with child’s name)
  • Domicile Certificate of child or parent
  • Voter ID card of any one parent
  • Utility bills (Electricity/Water/MTNL) or Passport in the name of parent/child
  1. Income Certificate – Mandatory for EWS admissions, issued by the Revenue Department of GNCT Delhi. Only certificates issued before the last date of online application will be accepted.
  2. Caste Certificate – If applicable.
  3. Disability Certificate – Required for children under the CWSN (Children With Special Needs) category.
  4. Recent Passport-Size Photograph of Child – Must not be older than 6 months; file type JPEG/JPG, size between 20 KB – 50 KB.

Important Instructions for Uploading Documents

  • Documents uploaded during registration will be considered final and will form the basis for eligibility verification.
  • During document verification, only the uploaded documents will be accepted. No additional or new documents will be considered later.
