Exams were monitored by 311 city coordinators, 726 observers, over 311 anti-cheating teams, and 215 central government representatives. CCTV surveillance, AI-based video monitoring, and 5G jammers were installed at all centers.

Session-1 saw 96.26% attendance. Out of 13,55,293 registrations, 13,04,653 candidates appeared—8.55 lakh males and 4.49 lakh females. Candidates can appear for either one session or both, with the best score counted for final merit.

Session-2 Registration & Exam Dates

Registrations for Session-2 are open until 25 February 2026. The exam will be conducted from 2 April to 9 April 2026, with final results expected by 20 April 2026.

North vs South Performance

While South Indian students traditionally dominated top ranks, this year 3 toppers are from southern states, with the majority of toppers hailing from the Hindi-speaking belt of North India. The increasing number of IIT seats and new courses is driving students’ aspirations for premier engineering institutes, both in India and abroad, where Indian professionals occupy senior roles in IT and software sectors.
