On the social media platform Reddit, an Indian worker shared advice for students, suggesting that instead of spending a large sum on a private Indian college, they should consider studying in Europe, where job opportunities after graduation may be higher. According to him, European countries also provide a supportive and enriching study environment. Many of them offer tuition-free education, making higher studies more affordable.

Private Colleges Often Only Look Good on Brochures
The Reddit post, titled “Think Before Spending ₹8–15 Lakh in Any Private College,” highlighted the limitations of many tier-2 and tier-3 private institutions in India. The worker wrote, “I studied in Europe and now I am working here. If you are planning to spend ₹8–15 lakh on a private college in India with average placements and few benefits, please reconsider. Most of these colleges look good only in brochures.”

The post further explained that the fees charged by private Indian colleges could instead fund an education in Europe without tuition fees, offering real-world experience through internships and job opportunities. “With the same money, you can study in Europe with high-quality education, real experience, a safe environment, internships, job opportunities, and globally recognized degrees. Honestly, this is more feasible than people think. Don’t waste your family’s savings on a college that will not give anything in return,” he added.
