The much-awaited recruitment for Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) in the India Post is on the horizon. When Will the India Post GDS 2026 Notification Be Released?
To predict the timeline for the 2026 notification, it is useful to look at the trend over the past five years:

Eligibility Criteria for GDS 2026
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 10th grade from a recognized board with passing marks in Mathematics and English. They should also have studied the local language up to the 10th grade. Basic computer knowledge and the ability to ride a bicycle are also required.
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 40 years. Age relaxations are applicable as per government norms: SC/ST – 5 years, OBC – 3 years, PWD – 10 years.

Salary Details
- Branch Post Master (BPM): ₹12,000 to ₹29,380 per month
- Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM)/Dak Sevak: ₹10,000 to ₹24,470 per month
