In a first for Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), IIM Lucknow will now consider JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) scores for admission to one of its newly launched programs. This step marks a significant shift in bridging engineering education and management studies.
Three New AI Programs Launched
IIM Lucknow recently unveiled three new Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs, aimed at preparing students for a future driven by AI technologies. The announcement was made during the India Bodh AI Conclave 2026, inaugurated by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- BS in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics – a 4-year program starting in 2026-27. Admission to this course will be based on 12th-grade performance and JEE Advanced scores.
- Tech MBA – a 2-year program scheduled for 2027-28.
- Integrated BS + Tech MBA – a 5-year program combining both degrees, enabling students to earn a BS and an MBA in one integrated track.
Objective of the Programs
According to IIM Lucknow, the new programs aim to enhance personal excellence, national impact, and global leadership. Students will develop skills in AI-driven decision-making, digital leadership, and innovation, preparing them for initiatives like Digital India and the India AI Mission.
Director Professor M.P. Gupta highlighted that the modular curriculum is designed to seamlessly integrate business strategy and technology, equipping students to handle real-world business and technological challenges effectively.
This innovative approach opens new pathways for engineering graduates seeking management education while recognizing their JEE achievements, setting a precedent for AI-focused interdisciplinary programs at premier institutes.
