
New Delhi: Global technology giant Google has opened applications for its Internship and Apprenticeship programmes for 2026, offering undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD students a major opportunity to gain industry experience while earning a stipend. The company has invited applications for several paid internship roles across engineering, research and technology domains.
According to details available on Google Careers, eligible candidates can apply for positions including Silicon Engineering Intern (PhD), Summer 2026, Software Engineering PhD Intern, Summer 2026, and Student Researcher, 2026. Selected interns will be placed at Google offices in Bengaluru (Karnataka), Pune (Maharashtra), and Hyderabad (Telangana).
Student Researcher Programme 2026
The Student Researcher 2026 programme offers placements in Google teams working on research, engineering and science-based roles. Interns will participate in focused research projects aimed at developing solutions to large-scale, real-world problems.
Eligibility:
Students pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree can apply, provided their academic background is in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics or Natural Sciences.
The last date to apply is February 26, 2026.

Silicon Engineering Intern (PhD), Summer 2026
Google has also invited applications from PhD students for its Silicon Engineering Internship Programme, Summer 2026. Interns will work closely with hardware and software architects and designers to help model, analyse and design next-generation cloud silicon technologies.
Eligibility:
Applicants must be pursuing a PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience in areas such as hardware system integration, digital design verification, ASIC physical design, FPGA, embedded systems, memory systems, and wireless communication is preferred. Proficiency in programming languages like C++, Python, Verilog, and UVM, along with experience using Synopsys and Cadence tools, is required.

Software Engineering PhD Intern, Summer 2026
The Software Engineering PhD Internship is a 12–14 week programme that includes professional development sessions, an executive speaker series and community-building activities. Interns will work on complex computer science problems, develop scalable and distributed software systems, and collaborate on multiple projects with global impact.
Eligibility:
Candidates must be pursuing a PhD in Software Development or a related technical field. Applicants should have experience in one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Java, C/C++, Python, JavaScript or Go, along with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, software design, and experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
