From “India – Mother of Democracy” to “India – A Rising Space Power”: NCERT’s Special Modules Showcase the Nation’s Story

New Delhi / February 12, 2026: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has launched a series of special modules to help students understand India’s achievements, initiatives, and diverse dimensions in simple, everyday language. So far, 19 modules have been released, with more in preparation.

These modules cover a wide range of topics, including India’s space program, the Chandrayaan mission, scientific significance of festivals, atomic energy, education reforms, anti-tobacco campaigns, and doping awareness. The initiative aims to make education more connected to nation, society, and life, going beyond traditional textbooks.

About NCERT’s Special Modules:
A senior NCERT official stated that the modules are designed to link learning with real-world issues and national achievements. For instance, a module on ‘Vande Mataram’ has been prepared on the occasion of its 150th anniversary, and the modules also highlight the scientific, cultural, environmental, and spiritual significance of Indian festivals, showing how they integrate nature, health, and seasonal changes.

  5. Operation Sindoor

  8. A Tree in Mother’s Name
  9. Heritage and Development
  10. India’s Sporting Achievements in Asian Games
  11. COVID-19
  12. Cleanliness
  13. India – Mother of Democracy
  14. India’s Digital Power
  15. India as an Economic Power
  16. Developed India
  17. Saluting Women Power
  18. New Laws – 2023
  19. Birsa Munda

Impact of the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020:
According to NCERT officials, the NEP 2020 has brought significant reforms to India’s education system, aiming to move students away from colonial-era learning approaches. The special modules are a part of this vision, providing simple, understandable content that educates students about national progress, social issues, and contemporary challenges.

Modules also include guidance on anti-drug and anti-tobacco campaigns, preparing students to become aware, responsible, and socially conscious citizens.

With these modules, NCERT is helping students connect with India’s journey and achievements in a practical and engaging way, reflecting the spirit of modern education.
