From Driving Government Officers to Becoming a Deputy Collector: How a Father’s Dream Came True Through His Son

Khandwa, MP: Dreams, determination, and relentless hard work can overcome any obstacle—this is exactly what Ritik Solanki demonstrated on his path to becoming a Deputy Collector in Madhya Pradesh. Hailing from a modest family, Ritik’s journey is also a tribute to his father, whose dream of seeing his children as respected officers became a reality.

A Father’s Sacrifice and Vision
Rup Singh Solanki, Ritik’s father, has long served as a driver for IAS officers in Madhya Pradesh. Currently, he drives for Upper Collector Srushti Deshmukh, and previously for KR Barode. Driving government vehicles day in and day out, he harbored a dream: that his children would one day rise to positions of authority and prestige.

Despite the challenges of managing a lower-middle-class household, Rup Singh prioritized education. To send Ritik to Delhi for further studies, he even sold his GPS machine. Such sacrifices instilled ambition and perseverance in his sons.

Turning a Father’s Dream into a Son’s Passion
Ritik, inspired by his father’s vision, pursued education relentlessly. He completed his schooling at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Pandhana, Khandwa, and graduated from Delhi University in 2020, simultaneously enrolling in UPSC coaching. Managing studies along with coaching was not easy, but Ritik persevered. His elder brother, Rahul, is now an officer in the Forest Service, and Ritik himself has achieved the position of Deputy Collector.

Cracking MPPSC Twice
Ritik first cleared the MPPSC 2022 exam and joined as a Treasury Officer in Alirajpur. However, his ambitions were higher. He continued rigorous preparation and successfully cracked the MP Civil Services Exam 2023.

MPPSC 2023 Results
The results, announced on 8 November 2025, showed Ritik scoring 637.25 out of 1400 in the main exam and 95 out of 175 in the interview. In total, he secured 732.25 out of 1575 marks under the ST category.

For Ritik, coming from a humble background, the path was not easy. Yet, through his father’s dream, his own determination, and unwavering hard work, he turned ambition into reality. Today, his story stands as a source of inspiration for countless young aspirants across the country.
