FMGE Result 2026: Foreign Medical Graduate Exam Result to Be Declared on February 17—Here’s How to Check

New Delhi: The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) is conducted twice a year, in June and December/January, providing Indian students who have completed their medical studies abroad a pathway to practice medicine in India. Thousands of candidates appear for this exam annually.

Candidates awaiting the FMGE January 2026 result can expect the official announcement on February 17, 2026. Clearing this exam is a mandatory requirement for provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or respective State Medical Councils, allowing candidates to legally practice medicine in India.

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will release the results on its official website natboard.edu.in. The result will include the candidate’s roll number, marks obtained out of 300, and qualifying status.

How to Check FMGE Result 2026

1. Visit the NBEMS official website: natboard.edu.in.
2. Open the Latest Notices section and click on the FMGE January 2026 result link (soon to be activated).
3. Open the PDF file and search for your roll number.
4. Download the result page and take a printout for future reference.

Qualifying Marks for FMGE
Candidates must score at least 150 out of 300 marks to qualify the FMGE January 2026 exam. Successful candidates will receive a pass certificate along with a provisional registration certificate.

Frequency of FMGE Attempts
There is no limit on the number of times a candidate can appear for FMGE. Since the exam is held twice a year, candidates who do not qualify can re-register and attempt the exam again to secure eligibility to practice medicine in India.

FMGE June 2025 Statistics
According to the results of FMGE June 2025, 37,207 candidates registered for the screening test, and 36,034 appeared for the exam. Only 6,707 candidates qualified, while approximately 29,327 candidates failed, losing the opportunity to practice in India.
