February School Holidays 2026: Check the Complete List of School and College Closures

The second month of the year, February 2026, will see schools and colleges across India closed on several occasions due to festivals and special observances. Students and parents can check the list below to plan ahead.

Important Holidays in February 2026

  • 1 February – Sant Ravidas Jayanti: Celebrated in Haryana, Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab. This year it falls on a Sunday, which is already a weekly holiday in most schools.
  • 15 February – Maha Shivratri: Observed in several states. Since it falls on a Sunday in 2026, schools will be closed as per the regular weekly holiday.
  • 18 February – Losar Festival: May be observed as a holiday in Sikkim.
  • 19 February – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti: Celebrated in Maharashtra, where schools will remain closed on this public holiday.
