Don’t Rely Only on JEE: Fill These 6 Entrance Exam Forms for BTech Admissions

For students aspiring to pursue a BTech degree, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is often the first exam that comes to mind. However, JEE is not the only route to secure admission in top engineering colleges. Several other engineering entrance exams can also open doors to prestigious institutions. Here is a list of six important exams that students should consider, in addition to JEE, to increase their chances of admission. Some of these exams have already started accepting applications. Candidates targeting BTech admissions in 2026 are advised to visit the official websites and submit their forms.

1. WBJEE
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) is a state-level exam conducted for admission to both government and private engineering colleges in West Bengal. The exam is typically conducted offline. For detailed information on registration and the exam schedule, candidates can visit the official website: wbjeeb.in.

2. VITEEE
The Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exam (VITEEE) is a national-level exam for admission to BTech programs at VIT campuses. The application process usually continues until March. Interested candidates can find details and apply online at viteee.vit.ac.in.

3. BITSAT
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is an online entrance exam for BITS campuses in Pilani, Goa, and Hyderabad. 4. MHT CET
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is a state-level exam conducted for admission to engineering colleges in Maharashtra. The exam is usually held between April and May. Registration is about to start, and students can check details at cetcell.mahacet.org.

5. SRMJEEE
The SRM Joint Engineering Entrance Exam (SRMJEEE) is conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology for admission to BTech and integrated MTech programs. Applications opened on 30 October 2025, and the last date is 16 April 2026. Candidates can find all exam-related details at srmist.edu.in.

6. KIITEE
The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Exam (KIITEE) is conducted by KIIT University for its engineering programs. Applications are currently open, and candidates can apply online at kiitee.kiit.ac.in. It is recommended that applicants carefully check all details on the official website before submitting their forms.

These alternative entrance exams provide multiple pathways to pursue BTech, reducing dependence solely on JEE and increasing the likelihood of securing a seat in reputed engineering institutions.
