New Delhi, December 26, 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a special opportunity for candidates who could not complete their CTET 2026 applications earlier. The application window will reopen on December 27, 2025, at 11:00 AM and will remain open until December 30, 2025. However, CBSE clarified that no new registrations will be accepted during this special window.
The board’s decision comes in response to demands from students facing difficulties such as failed payments or server issues during the initial registration period. CBSE had originally opened the CTET 2026 registration from November 27 to December 18, 2025, during which 25,30,581 candidates successfully applied. Among these, 3,53,218 candidates applied one day before the last date, while 4,14,981 candidates applied on the final day. Despite this, 1,61,127 registrations remained incomplete, prompting CBSE to provide this additional opportunity.
How to Apply During the Special Window:
Candidates can follow these steps to complete their applications:
- Visit the official website: ctet.nic.in
- Click on the CBSE CTET 2026 registration link once the window opens.
- Fill in all required details in the application form and upload the necessary documents.
- Pay the application fee online and submit the form.
- Save the PDF copy of the submitted form and take a printout for future reference.
CTET 2026 Application Fees:
- General & OBC Candidates: ₹1,000 for one paper; ₹1,200 for both papers.
- SC, ST & PwD Candidates: ₹500 for one paper; ₹600 for both papers.
Candidates are advised to check the official website for the latest updates and detailed fee information.
CBSE’s reopening of the application window is expected to provide relief to candidates who missed completing their forms due to technical or payment-related issues, ensuring that all eligible students have a fair chance to appear for the CTET 2026 exam.
