CBSE Issues Important Notice: How Theory and Practical Marks Will Be Divided for Class 10 & 12 Exams

CBSE Important Update: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released a detailed notice regarding the marks distribution for Class 10 and 12 board exams 2026. Students appearing for the exams must review this update carefully to understand how theory, practical, project, and internal assessment marks will be allocated.

Practical, Project, and Internal Assessment Dates

According to the CBSE circular, practical exams, project assessments, and internal assessments for the 2026 board exams will begin from 1 January 2026 and continue until 14 February 2026. Schools are required to complete all evaluation processes within this timeframe.

Marks Division for Theory and Practical

CBSE has issued two separate notices for schools, covering all subjects for Class 10 and 12. The notices provide the exact breakdown of marks between theory papers, practicals, projects, and internal assessments. This structured division will help schools organize exams effectively and ensure students are evaluated fairly according to the updated guidelines.

Schools and students can access the official circulars on the CBSE website: cbse.gov.in.

Schools Advised to Exercise Caution While Uploading Marks

The board has emphasized accuracy while uploading marks. Previous instances have shown errors in the mark submission process. Schools are strictly instructed to follow the guidelines carefully to avoid mistakes.

CBSE has clearly stated that requests for corrections after initial submission will not be entertained, highlighting the importance of providing accurate marks from the outset. Any discrepancies during the upload process could lead to complications later.

This notice is crucial for students and schools to ensure smooth evaluation and transparent assessment for the 2026 board exams.
