CBSE Issues Advisory Ahead of Board Exams 2026: Over 46 Lakh Students to Appear, Important Updates on Timing

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released an important advisory ahead of the Class 10 and 12 board examinations, scheduled to begin on 17 February 2026. The notice provides guidance for students, parents, and schools regarding exam entry timing, traffic management, and safety measures.

This year, more than 46 lakh students across India and abroad will be appearing for the exams, making it one of the largest CBSE examination sessions to date.

Key Guidelines for Students:

  • Entry Timing: All students must reach their examination centers by 10:00 AM. Entry after 10:00 AM may not be permitted. The exams are scheduled to start at 10:30 AM, so proper time management is critical.
  • Traffic and Safety Advisory: During the examination period, several national and international events, conferences, and high-level meetings will take place in different parts of the country. This may result in traffic diversions, congestion, or route changes. Students are advised to plan their commute in advance, considering local conditions, weather, and distance.
  • Visit Exam Centers in Advance: Students are encouraged to visit their examination centers prior to the exam day to familiarize themselves with the location, route, and traffic conditions. This helps prevent delays or confusion on the day of the exam.

Scale of the Exams:

Exams will be conducted across India and 26 countries for over 46 lakh students. To ensure smooth conduct, CBSE has appealed for cooperation from schools, parents, and students. Schools are requested to guide students and guardians on timely arrival at exam centers and assist in managing logistics efficiently.

With such a massive number of participants, proper planning and adherence to the advisory are crucial for the seamless conduct of the CBSE Board Exams 2026.
