The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Board Exams 2026 commenced on 17 February 2026 for Class 10 and Class 12 students. The exams will continue until 10 March 2026 for Class 10 and 9 April 2026 for Class 12. Students reported that the Class 10 Mathematics paper on the first day was moderate and manageable, while Class 12 papers were described as balanced and fair, giving students a positive start.
Day-1 Paper Analysis
On the opening day, Class 10 students tackled Mathematics, with many praising the paper for a mix of easy, moderate, and some challenging questions. Ojaswi Singh, a Class 10 student, said the paper was moderately difficult, but overall well-balanced. Another student, Saransh, mentioned that the questions were aligned with the classroom syllabus, making it fair and predictable.
For Class 12 students, papers in Biotechnology, Entrepreneurship, and Shorthand were reported to be of moderate difficulty, allowing students to complete them comfortably within the given time. On the same day, Class 10 students attempted Home Science, while Class 12 students took the Physical Education exam.
Teachers’ Feedback
Teachers noted that the Maths papers for Class 10 were well-balanced. Meenakshi Sharma, a teacher at Vidya Bal Bhavan Senior Secondary School, said that Maths Standard was slightly more challenging compared to previous years, ranging from easy to moderate, while Maths Basic was moderate.
PGT Mathematics, Sapna Charha from Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh, said the paper was aligned with the syllabus, and questions were proportionately distributed across chapters. Case studies and multiple-choice questions were based on NCERT guidelines, making scoring predictable and achievable within the exam duration. Principal Alka Kapoor confirmed that feedback from students was positive.
Submission of Objections
CBSE has instructed that if any school has objections regarding Class 10 or 12 papers, they must submit them on the same day via OECMS (Online Exam Centre Management System). For clarifications, emails can be sent to qobservation@cbseshiksha.in. This measure is intended to prevent delays, as schools have in the past submitted objections several days after the exams.
