
In a major update for job seekers, the Bihar Second Inter-Level Recruitment 2025 has witnessed a significant increase in vacancies, now exceeding 24,492 posts. Candidates who have not applied yet have an extended opportunity to submit their applications.
The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) recently added 1,317 new positions to the existing 23,175 vacancies, bringing the total to 24,492. Following this, the commission has also extended the application deadline. Candidates can now apply online until 15 January 2026, while the application fee can be submitted up to 13 January 2026. - General: 10,753
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 3,407
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 231
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 4,185
- Backward Class (BC): 2,678
- BC Women: 811
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS): 2,427
Selected candidates will be appointed across various Bihar government departments, including Road Construction, Prohibition and Excise, Home, Minority Welfare, Environment & Training, Labor Resources, Health, Panchayati Raj, Mines & Geology, Transport, and more.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must have passed 12th grade (Intermediate) or equivalent from a recognized board. Age requirements are as follows:
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 37 years (general male candidates)
- Relaxations: OBC/Extremely Backward Classes (male & female), and General Female candidates – up to 40 years; SC/ST (male & female) – up to 42 years; Persons with Disabilities – 10-year age relaxation for all categories.
Application Fee:
Each applicant must pay ₹100, plus processing and service charges. Payment can be made via credit/debit card, UPI, or net banking.
Exam Pattern:
If applications exceed 40,000, a preliminary exam will be conducted. The test will cover General Studies, General Science, Mathematics, and Mental Ability, with 150 questions in total. Each correct answer earns 4 marks, while 1 mark is deducted for incorrect answers. The exam duration is 2 hours 15 minutes, and the paper will be available in Hindi and English.
Qualifying Marks:
- General: 40%
- OBC: 34%
- BC: 36.5%
- SC/ST: 32%
- Women and Divyang (PWD) across all categories: 32%
