24 New Courses, 42,000+ Seats: IP University Admissions Begin on February 2

University Admissions 2026: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is set to launch admissions for the academic session 2026-27 starting February 2, 2026. This year, the university is introducing 24 new courses across undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs, offering over 42,000 seats in total. Entrance examinations will be held in April-May 2026.

Admission Details:
The university will open its admission portal (ipu.ac.in) on February 2. A total of 37,419 undergraduate and 5,316 postgraduate seats, along with PhD programs in 22 branches, will be available for registration. Additionally, supernumerary seats have been reserved for international students; currently, students from 32 countries, mainly from Africa and SAARC nations, are enrolled. Approximately 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi residents.

Many courses will admit students based on national-level entrance exams such as CAT, NEET, CLAT, NIMCET, CEED, and CMAT. For other programs, the IP Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted in April-May. Some programs, such as BTech, will also accept CUET scores. The registration fee remains Rs. 2,500, while tuition fees will increase by 5% as per university norms; the Delhi government determines fees for 90% of the seats.

Launch and Government Support:
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood launched the UG, PG, and PhD admission brochure at the India International Centre. Highlighting the education budget and Narela Education Hub, he stated that while Rs. 500 crore was allocated initially, the government has now increased it to Rs. 1,300 crore to develop Delhi as an intellectual capital.

University Growth:
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mahesh Verma stated that last year over 35,000 students were admitted, setting a new record. Over 10,000 BTech seats were filled, though around 5,000 seats remained vacant, mostly in remote colleges. The LLB program will run for three years, and ESI College will also be affiliated with IP University.

  • Bachelor of Management Studies
  • BSc in Packaging Technology (lateral entry)
  • MTech in Robotics and AI
  • MA in Mass Communication (weekend)
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • BTech in Industrial Chemistry
  • BSc in Clinical Psychology
  • BTech in Computer Science Engineering (AI & Data Science)
  • BTech in Computer Science & Business Systems
  • Teacher Education and Inclusive Education
  • BA BEd in Special & Inclusive Education
  • MA in Clinical Psychology
  • PG Diploma in Rehabilitation Psychology
  • MSc in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Courses in AYUSH and Traditional Medicine, including five MD programs
  • Medical & Superspecialty, Master of Dental Surgery, Applied Epidemiology, two DM programs, and three MD programs

New Affiliations:

  • Private Institutions (Self-Financed): Institute of Advanced Studies (2 courses), MR Bharati School of Nursing, Asia Pacific Institute of Management, National Heart Institute (1 course each).
  • Government Institutions: Swami Dayanand Hospital, Dilshad Garden (10 MD courses), Delhi State Cancer Institute (2 MD courses), Guru Nanak Eye Center (1 MD), National Institute of Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases (1 UG course).
  • International Campus: The university will launch its first international campus in Guyana, offering hybrid-mode programs in Teacher Education, Management Studies, AI, Data Science, Robotics, and IT.
  • New Residential Campus in Narela: Prof. Verma confirmed that the 23.23-acre campus is ready, with Rs. 162 crore allocated by the government. Land policies are being finalized before full operations begin.

GGSIPU’s new session promises expanded opportunities for students across diverse academic fields, both in India and internationally.
